LayerZero, the bridging protocol that permits completely different crypto networks to speak with one another, plans to hook up with Bitcoin sidechain Rootstock in what can be its first integration with the world’s authentic blockchain.
Rootstock goals to finish Bitcoin’s “isolation” from different blockchains resulting from its lack of native good contracts, a barrier that LayerZero is ready to tackle, in accordance an emailed announcement shared with CoinDesk on TK.
The Bitcoin blockchain lacks the performance to supply good contracts that different blockchains have and that are basic constructing decentralized finance (DeFi) providers.
This lack of provision for DeFi on Bitcoin, which holds extra worth that each different blockchain mixed, is an obstacle to even higher adoption. That is prompting builders to searching for methods of tapping into the large liquidity that’s held in bitcoin (BTC) and permitting it to be bridged to remainder of the crypto world.
With the connection between Rootstock and LayerZero, builders would have the ability to construct functions on the Bitcoin sidechain that may talk with the over 100 different blockchains, together with Ethereum and Solana, Rootstock stated within the announcement.
