Barbara Corcoran remembers when her actual property agency, The Corcoran Group, was in a decent spot. Mortgage charges had been round 18%, inserting the date round October 1981. She knew she needed to make job cuts.
“My mom stated to me, ‘You are going to have to fireside individuals, proper?’ She wasn’t a businesswoman, she was a mother,” Corcoran informed Entrepreneur.
When Corcoran confirmed the approaching layoffs, her mom, who labored for The Corcoran Group on the time, stated one thing surprising: “Fireplace me first.”

Twenty years later, she offered her enterprise for $66 million.

Corcoran says her mom’s determination helped her enterprise thrive and helped her staff take the job cuts otherwise as a result of her mom led by instance.
